O VINARIJI / ABOUT THE WINERY

O VINARIJI / ABOUT THE WINERY

Located in a remote corner of southeastern Tuscany, Tenuta di Trinoro specializes in rich red wines from Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The estate has 200 hectares and is located in the wine-growing valley of Orcia near Sarteano, where Tuscany meets Umbria and Lazio. Owner and winegrower Andrea Franchetti acquired the property in the 1980s and began planting the first vines in the early 1990s. The most important lesson he learned in Bordeaux was the key role played by terroir. Only selected plots were suitable for viticulture, the vineyards were planted modeled on the style of Bordeaux: seedlings of high density, meter by meter, with cuttings of the highest quality.Dense planting, high thinning, very low yields, extreme maturity and taste concentration characterize its wine style. The wines are very fragrant and rich, immediately accessible and intended to develop in the bottle over time.
