O VINARIJI / ABOUT THE WINERY

O VINARIJI / ABOUT THE WINERY

Povijest vinarije Acordini obitelji počinje kada je Gaetano Accordini tijekom ranih godina dvadesetog stoljeća kupio 5 hektara zemlje u gradu Negar u Cà Bessole, uz pomoć njegove supruge Giuseppina Bertani.

The history of the Acordini family winery begins when Gaetano Accordini bought 5 hectares of land in the town of Negar in Cà Bessole during the early years of the twentieth century, with the help of his wife Giuseppina Bertani. Stefano, his son, produced Valpolicella wine for the local market, and ran the winery until 1970. Then, on Christmas Day 1956, Tiziano was born, and Daniele in September 1962. In those years low grape yields made the production of good wine very difficult; but that did not stop their passion. Thanks to her oenology degree, Daniele has taken measures to the path of quality with strength and determination, starting with the vineyards located in Negrar with new installations by Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinell and Molinar; then they increased the quality of yield per hectare, removed old barrels in the cellar and modernized vinification procedures. The first bottle of Amarone Acinatico was produced in 1980 using only Negrar vineyards. Vineyard development grew in 1999 with the purchase of 10 hectares in the hills of Fumana, in the village of Cavalo. In 2008, they began building a new winery so new generations of families could continue the winemaking tradition.
