Vino ima tinta ljubičasto-crnu boju u čaši. Otvara se notama svježe ubrane borovnice, lavande i moke, uz prateće arome sladića, lista duhana i egzotičnog začina. Tamnog voća i slojevitog okusa, s dugotrajnim završetkom samoniklog bilja, crne maline i strugotina od olovke.

The wine displays an inky purple-black color in the glass. It opens with notes of freshly picked blueberry, lavender, and mocha, with supporting aromas of licorice, tobacco leaf, and exotic spice. Dark-fruited and layered on the palate, with a lingering finish of wild herbs, black raspberry, and pencil shavings.

Dalla Valle Vineyards je prepoznat kao jedna od eminentnih obiteljskih vinarija u dolini Napa. Osnovan 1986. godine od strane Naoko i njenog pokojnog supruga Gustava Dalla Vallea, na slavnim istočnim obroncima Oakvillea, Dalla Valle Vineyards zaslužio je priznanje kao jedno od najslavnijih svjetskih vinskih posjeda, dajući vina izvanrednog karaktera i složenosti, berbu za berbom.

Danas Dalla Valle vodi tim majke i kćeri Naoko i Maya Dalla Valle, koji rade zajedno sa slavnim timom koji uključuje konzultantskog vinara Andyja Ericksona, upravitelja vinograda Edgara Alfara, kao i konzultantskog enologa Michela Rollanda. Uz zajedničku misiju u kojoj Dalla Valle uspijeva generacijama koje dolaze, ova predana grupa upravlja svakim aspektom vinogradarstva i vinarstva s razinom pomne brige i detalja rezerviranim za velike Prve rastove.

Smješten na slavnim istočnim obroncima Oakvillea, na nadmorskim visinama koje dosežu 450 stopa, to je mjesto koje bez napora prelazi granicu između dna doline i planinskog vinograda. Dok pretežno zapadni aspekt vinovoj lozi pruža obilje sunca, stalni povjetarac sa zaljeva San Pablo donosi rashladni utjecaj koji pomaže grožđu da zadrži lijepu prirodnu kiselost. Prepoznatljiva vulkanska tla Dalla Vallea bogata mineralima pružaju izvrsnu drenažu i pravu količinu stresa za vinovu lozu da daju duboko složeno i koncentrirano grožđe.

Vinogradom brine posvećen vinogradarski tim, s fokusom na vinogradarstvo, a ne na uzgoj grožđa. U skladu s održivim, višegeneracijskim pristupom koji vodi Dalla Valle, vinograd se od 2007. godine uzgaja organski i certificiran je za organski od strane CCOF-a. Počevši od 2019. godine, tim je prešao na biodinamičku poljoprivredu. U sklopu ovog holističkog pristupa zdravlju i vitalnosti vinograda, uzgaja se niz pokrovnih usjeva, te se primjenjuju prirodne izmjene tla i kompostiranje, ovisno o potrebama svakog bloka.

 

Dalla Valle Vineyards is recognized as one of Napa Valley’s preeminent family-run wineries. Founded in 1986 by Naoko and her late husband Gustav Dalla Valle, on the famed eastern hillsides of Oakville, Dalla Valle Vineyards has earned acclaim as one of world’s most celebrated wine estates, yielding wines of extraordinary character and complexity, vintage after vintage.

Today, Dalla Valle is guided by the mother-and-daughter team of Naoko and Maya Dalla Valle, who work alongside an illustrious team that includes Consulting Winemaker Andy Erickson, Vineyard Manager Edgar Alfaro, as well as Consulting Enologist Michel Rolland. With a shared mission that Dalla Valle thrive for generations to come, this dedicated group stewards every aspect of the viticulture and winemaking with a level of meticulous care and detail reserved for the great First Growths.

Located on the famed eastern hillsides of Oakville, at elevations reaching 450 feet, it is a site that effortlessly straddles the line between a valley floor and a mountain vineyard. While a predominantly western aspect provides the vines plentiful sunshine, constant breezes off the San Pablo Bay bring a cooling influence that helps the grapes retain lovely natural acidity. Dalla Valle’s distinctive mineral-rich volcanic soils provide excellent drainage and just the right amount of stress for the vines to yield profoundly complex and concentrated grapes.

The vineyard is tended by a dedicated vineyard team, with a focus on winegrowing, as opposed to grape growing. In keeping with the sustainably minded, multigenerational approach that guides Dalla Valle, the vineyard has been farmed organically since 2007 and is Certified Organic by the CCOF. Beginning in 2019, the team has shifted to biodynamic farming. As part of this holistic approach to vineyard health and vitality, an array of cover crops are grown, and natural soil amendments and composting are employed, depending on the needs of each block.
