The 2022 Pavie Macquin has a fresh, vibrant, well-defined and focused bouquet with perfumed red berry fruit laced with violet and light iodine scents. There is a mineralité here that will come through with time. The palate is medium-bodied and fine with a fresh entry, fluid tannins, a keen line of acidity and a sorbet-fresh finish that urges you back for another sip.

Vino odležava najmanje 24 mjeseca u francuskim hrastovim bačvama prije punjenja u boce. Vina Pavie Macquina poznata su po svojoj kombinaciji snage, mineralnosti i elegantne kiselosti, s dobrim potencijalom starenja. 

The wine undergoes a minimum of 24 months of aging in French oak barrels before bottling. Wines from Pavie Macquin are known for their combination of power, minerality, and elegant acidity, with good aging potential.

Bordeaux je vinska regija smještena u jugozapadnoj Francuskoj te je domovina najpoznatijih svjetskih vinara. Ima stoljetnu tradiciju, a u vinima Bordeaux-a uživali su i stari Rimljani. Oko grada Bordeaux-a se nalazi 14 000 proizvođača vina te 117 514 hektara vinograda.

Regija je u blizini rijeke Gironde te Atlantskog oceana zbog čega ima morsku klimu. Ocean i rijeka donose blagu zimu i topla ljeta te duge sunčane jeseni. Regija je zaštićena od oceanskih snažnih vjetrova sa gustom borovom šumom koja se proteže paralelno uz regiju. Zbog rijeke i oceana regija ima vapnenačko tlo sa glinom i pijeskom što je izuzetno pogodno tlo za uzgoj vinove loze.

Bordeaux je najpoznatiji po crvenim vinima te plemenitim slatkim vinima, no ne zaostaju ni visokokvalitetna bijela vina. Bordeaux crvena vina imaju jedinstveni izražaj regije koji je prepoznatljiv u cijelom svijetu. Najčešće crne sorte koja se uzgajaju su Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec. Najčešće bijele sorte su Sauvignon blanc, Semilion i Muscadelle. Klasifikacija bordoških vina počela je 1855. godine. Bordoški vinogradi podjeljeni su na pet regija; Entre-Deux-Mers, Libournais, Bourgeais-Blayais, Gravec i Medoc.

Château Pavie Macquin je imanje Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé B u Bordeauxu, poznato po svojim snažnim, mineralnim vinima uzgojenim na visoravni od gline i vapnenca . Imanje je osnovao Albert Macquin , koji je bio pionir u korištenju cijepljenih vinovih loza za borbu protiv filoksere. Pod vodstvom Nicolasa Thienponta od 1990-ih, imanje je prihvatilo ekološki prihvatljivu i biodinamičku poljoprivredu , što je dovelo do njegove promocije u klasifikaciji Saint-Émilion 2006. godine. Vina su obično mješavina Merlota, Cabernet Franca i Cabernet Sauvignona, odležanih u bačvama od francuskog hrasta i poznatih po svojoj kremastosti, kiselosti i sposobnosti odležavanja.
