DBR, LOS VASCOS CROMAS CABERNET SAUVIGNON GRAN RESERVA

27,00

Strukturirano i uravnoteženo vino, dobar predstavnik Los Vascos Cabernet Sauvignona.

Ruby colored with garnet trim. The nose is intense, with red fruits such as cherries and plums, accompanied by cassis. Along with these fruits appear spicy notes of clove and cinnamon complemented by a background of well-integrated wood and graphite notes. The palate is intense, with a pleasant volume and acidity. It has characterful but elegant tannins that give it presence and vitality. A structured and balanced wine, a good representative of a Los Vascos Cabernet Sauvignon.

REGIJA / REGION

The official Colchagua Valley viticultural area stretches south-east to north-west for 70 miles at its widest point. Its western boundary is formed by the coastal hills which seem to run the entire length of Chile’s vast Pacific coastline. In the east, the vineyards are naturally limited by the foothills of the Andes, into which they creep further and further each year.

Colchagua Valley is a fairly new wine-producing region in Chile when compared with the historical Maipo Valley. Most of the region’s modern winemaking facilities have been constructed with wine tourism in mind, and as a result, Colchagua Valley is enjoying a growing reputation as Chile’s ‘Napa Valley’.

O VINARIJI / ABOUT THE WINERY

Viña Los Vascos is a Chilean winery that has been owned and operated by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) since 1988.

The estate is located in the Colchagua Valley with a 640 hectare vineyard, one of the largest in central Colchagua. Here, the soil is of volcanic origin with an ideal clay portion for viticulture. It sits at an average of 130 meter above sea level and 40 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean. This creates an favourable microclimate with strong sun exposure and little risk of frost.

The grape varieties planted at the estate include Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Syrah, Malbec, and Chardonnay. Vines range from 15-70 years old, the oldest of which produce low yields with higher concentrations of phenolics and flavor compounds.

The flagship of the Viña Los Vascos wine portfolio is the Le Dix de los Vascos. Produced in commemoration of ten years of Domaines Barons de Rothschild, it is a Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend with small portions of Syrah and Carmenè. It spends 18 months barrel-aging in the cellar prior to bottling.

Other notable wines include the Cromas Carmenere Gran Reserva and the Cromas Gran Reserva produced from Cabernet Sauvignon. The white collections features Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc sourced from vineyards within the Casablanca Valley
