O VINARIJI / ABOUT THE WINERY

Family property since the 11th century, Castiglioni is the center of origin of the Frescobaldi wine production, which testifies to their exploits since 1300. The estate extends along the ancient Via di Castiglioni, built by the Romans to unite the north of Tuscany with Rome, the Eternal City. The area was already famous in those days for the high quality of agricultural crops and for centuries it was the center of intense traffic and the place chosen for the construction of luxurious Roman villas. The noble coat of arms of the Frescobaldi family, with the crown, the shield and the three drums, is also represented as a symbol of Castiglioni, to commemorate the 700 years of winemaking history, which began right on this estate.
