CHÂTEAU LĖOVILLE BARTON, 2011

1.490,00kn

Neprozirnu ljubičastu boju prate arome vlažne zemlje, šiblja, crnog ribiza, cedra i nagovještaji vanilina i tamjana. Srednje do punog tijela i umjereno taninski s dobrom kiselošću, kao i izvrsnom ocrtanošću i čistoćom, treba ga zaboraviti 4-5 godina, a piti u sljedeća dva desetljeća.

Leoville Barton-s 2011 is head and shoulders above its sister offering, Langoa Barton. Although not as backward as I expected given the general style that emerges from Anthony Barton-s beloved St.-Julien estate, this wine will need time in the bottle once it is released in several years. An opaque purple color is followed by aromas of damp earth, underbrush, black currants, cedar and hints of vanillin and incense. Medium to full-bodied and moderately tannic with good acidity as well as excellent delineation and purity, it should be forgotten for 4-5 years, and drunk over the following two decades.

Opis

Harvesting is done entirely by hand. After removing the roots, the berries are carefully sorted, chopped and poured into thermo-regulated wooden containers, according to their plots. Alcoholic fermentation takes 7 to 10 days, and extraction always respects the juice by adjusting the number of pumps depending on the cuvées and harvest. Maceration is about 3 weeks, then the juice is extracted in barrels, plot by plot. The wine is then aged for between 16 and 18 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which are brand new, in the cellar at a temperature of 15 °. Wines are topped up 3 times a week to avoid any contact of wine and air, and the shelf is traditional using the so-called “à l’esquive” method.

REGIJA / REGION

Bordeaux is a famous wine region located in southwestern France and is home to the world’s most famous winemakers. It has a century-old tradition and the wines of Bordeaux were enjoyed by the ancient Romans. The port of Bordeaux has been a World Heritage Site since 2009. There are 14,000 wine producers and 117,514 hectares of vineyards around the city of Bordeaux. The region is close to the Gironde River and the Atlantic Ocean, which is why it has a maritime climate. The ocean and river bring mild winters and warm summers and long sunny autumns. The region is protected from strong ocean winds with a dense pine forest that runs parallel to the region. Due to the river and ocean, the region has calcareous soil with clay and sand, which is extremely suitable soil for growing vines. Bordeaux is best known for its red wines and noble sweet wines, but high-quality white wines are not far behind. Bordeaux red wines have a unique expression of the region that is recognizable all over the world. The most common red wines produced are Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec. The most common white wines are Sauvignon blanc, Semilion and Muscadelle. The classification of Bordeaux wines began in 1855. The Bordeaux vineyards are divided into five regions; Entre-Deux-Mers, Libournais, Bourgeais-Blayais, Gravec and Medoc. Medoc is located on a triangular peninsula surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde River, which have an extremely favorable effect on grape growing. Bordeaux also has a large industrial center, especially focused on aeronautics. The most famous aeronautics companies are Dassault, Safran and Thales. While the Megajoule laser, which is crucial for the French nuclear program, is being built on the outskirts of Bordeaux, the Ministry of Defense has invested two billion euros in it. Of the other industries, the petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries are present. One of the most famous sights of Bordeaux is its university, which was founded in 1441 thanks to Pope Eugene IV. The University of Bordeaux is divided into 4 parts: the University of Bordeaux, the University of Victor Segalen Bordeaux 2, the University of Michel de Montaigne Bordeaux 3 and the University of Montesquieu Bordeaux 4.
